In a thrilling encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 35 runs in the 41st match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL).
RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. The team put up a formidable total of 180 for 6, with skipper Virat Kohli leading the charge with a brilliant 63 off 44 deliveries. Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz Ahmed also contributed notable scores of 39 and 27, respectively.
In response, SRH struggled to keep up with the RCB total. Despite a spirited effort from Kane Williamson (45) and Aiden Markram (39), the Sunrisers were restricted to 145 for 8. Harshal Patel starred with the ball for RCB, scalping three wickets for just 23 runs.
The victory consolidates RCB's position at the top of the IPL 2024 standings. The team now has nine wins from 11 matches and remains well-placed to secure a berth in the playoffs.
